I am feeding my three indoor only cats Meow Mix Original Choice. Is this safe? Please let me know as soon as possible, as one of my cats is displaying lethargy and poor appetite while the other two seem fine. Thank you.
i have been reading as much information regarding the recalls on pet food. Currently I am feeding Actr1um(TM) ( marketed by Walmart Canada). My feline bud (Winsom Prince) seems to be fine, however my issue is that I still do not know who actually makes the food.
The ingredients state: chicken, poultry-by-product meal, brewers rice, ground yellow corn, corn gluten meal, soybean meal,tallow preserved with mixed tocopherois (source of Vit. E), fish meal, dried egg product, sweet dried whey, potassium chloride, phosphoric acid, animo digest, salt, choline chloride, DL-methionine, taurine, zinc & ferrous sulfates, Vit. Supp. (E,D,B12,D3) riboflavin supp., niacin, calcium pantothenate, citric acid, manganese sulfate, biotin, thiamine mononitrate, folic acid, copper sulfate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, menadione sodium bisulfite complex/source of Vit. K activity, calcium iodate, sodium selenite. A-WA7-C.
How do I find out for sure?
I lost my older cat (Moaners) due to a liver illness not long after the recalls started, he rapidly went from a healthy 22 pounder with an abundance of energy and personality to a very sickly 8 lbs before I had to let him go. Even with my lap naps and nursing and cuddling, i couldn’t make him recover.
I have switched to this Actr1um brand because of its claim to real chicken and so far so good with Winsom, but I am still concerned because the actual manufacturer is not listed on the bag.
Any ideas?

Most of the time there is a small box on the side of the bag (or find a can made with thesame name) that has a phone number or address on it. Call that number or write a simple not to the adress with your questions and ask them to write back or call.
