Supported Rescues
(No Kill Shelter) Scio, OREGON
A remarkable small rescue in Oregon run by an equally remarkable woman. AARRFF.org is just in the early stages of development, although the lady that devotes her time to this rescue has been saving lives for many years.
Not limited to cats and dogs (no caged animals i.e. birds rabbits etc) Very accommodating and helpful. I would encourage everyone to visit the website.
Make a donation, read up on the success stories, help this rescue move forward and save more lives.
Contact information can be found on the website or on the petfinder listing.

The Grayson County Humane Society/SPCA works non-stop to find safe rescues or loving homes for the adoptable animals that, for whatever unfortunate reason, end up at the animal shelter in Leitchfield, Kentucky. Comprised COMPLETELY of volunteers who donate our time, money, and resources.
As the shelter has an intake of almost 1,000 dogs and cats per year – almost always near maximum capacity.
Because of such conditions, constantly faced with an urgent need to move these wonderful pets to safety, in order to avoid the need for euthanasia simply due to lack of space

Break Heart Ranch
Break Heart Ranch is owned and operated by Val and John Hinderlider – true friends to all horses.
It doesn’t matter the injury, disposition or the age we are here for the throw-aways, the lost, the starved, the abused, the hopeless – any who are unable to find a safe haven anywhere else.
My life is dedicated to relieve the suffering we have caused these magnificent animals to whom we owe so very much. Where would we have been without them, they fed us, carried us to war, died for us, befriended us and helped us settle this country.
The old saying goes “you can’t save them all, only one at a time.” but that doesn’t help the tears, sleepless nights or nightmares when I must leave behind those poor animals on the meat lines knowing their final destination, especially when they know what is going to happen to them. I see it in their eyes.
We have been awarded Non-Profit 501(c)3 Status!!
Now all donations will be Tax Deductible!!
At Break Heart Ranch we are all about rescue, rehabilitation, education and training for starved , abandoned, abused & throw-away horses

Our Beach Cats are a wonderful group and our small island is a special place as well.
These cats, while un-owned, are forced to live in close proximity with people.
They live on the docks as well as in the marshes and right in people’s yards.
They are as varied as a box of crayons and as resilient as any veteran that I know. Life here is extremely harsh.
The summer brings several different plagues of biting flies, nasty coastal storms with flooding, intense heat and no fresh water in sight.
The winters are equally as harsh with 60mph winds off of the water, no food to eat and no shelter from the cold. These cats rely on the kindness of humans and their own resourcefulness to survive.
